Let me just say… I haven’t been around so many beautiful people since, well, since my last family reunion. 🙂
Last night, Esinahs Media Group hosted the ‘Inaugural All-White Charity Event” presented by Washington Redskins wide receiver, Pierre Garçon. The event benefited the programs and activities of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.
Pandit F. Wright, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW), shared with me how proud she was to know that more than 50% of NFL players support local Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) chapters.
She also shared her thoughts on the BGCGW’s Virgina Youth of the Year, Henry Lopez. “It means everything (for the players to come out tonight.) Just look at Henry and see how he and his family have progressed and you can see the impact.”
Fourteen years ago, Henry and his siblings joined the BGCA. A senior at Jeb Stuart High School, Henry will attend George Mason University in the fall. He states that he’s most thankful for the help BGCA provided in achieving “The American Dream” and providing an opportunity to pursue higher education.
The Pictures: I hope you enjoy the beautiful people. I didn’t get super great shots of RGIII b/c I got pushed out of the way (smh… but it was actually funny). I hear that more than $30K was raised through the event and that’s to be commended. A few ways that funds were raised were through donations, ticket sales and the silent auction. You can see a few of the silent auction items above. I want that jersey!
Today, I’m thankful for those who use their influence to support work that betters our community! God bless!
so I guess the mayor missed the all white memo..lol
